I do a lot of grassy lawn maintenance eight months out of a year. I thought these boots would be just the ticket for that work. The product sizing was correct and the comfort and quick on/off closure feature were fine. But, after only three wearings of these boots, the sole separated from the upper on both sides of the right shoe at its seam with the toe-guard, rendering them no longer "water-proof" and the pair no longer wearable or usable. I did not abuse these boots in any way that would explain that premature failure, unless walking on turf and operating the hydrostatic-drive foot pedal of a garden tractor are considered abusive behavior. Also, the claim that the tread design is more slip-resitant on wet grass than conventional designs is simply bogus: I slipped on inclines as much, if not more, in these as the shoe I wore previously. If I had to do it all over again, I would go to my local discount store and buy an inexpensive pair of "hiking" boots in the spring and throw them away at the end of autumn or when they likewise fall apart.

Lawn mowers are dangerous. Although I have safely mowed for about forty years, I began a search for steel-toed low shoes to wear while mowing and doing other yard work. (I have steel-toed boots, but they are too hot in the summer, so I end up wearing sneakers, which offer no protection.) These Lawngrips are designed to keep your feet safe with their steel toes. They also have an amazing tread which gives you a good grip on wet grass, but the tread is designed to release mud and turf, so you don't track it into the house or car. They are very comfortable too. I recommend them for anyone who works on landscaping, especially with power equipment.
