I bought these for hunting in the soggy coastal muskegs of southcentral Alaska. I have also hunted these areas in Lacrosse hip waders, Muck Boots and leather boots with goretex liner. These Irish Setter boots are the best thing I have tried so far. I bought my normal shoe size and they fit tight with a thick sock which is perfect for active hunting but not easy to pull on and off. Sitting still they feel like they put pressure across the the bridge of my feet but I don't notice at all when hiking. My Muck Arctic Pro boots are easier to take on and off and are warmer and more comfortable for sitting still but they dont offer the same support and they are more clunky and awkward to walk in. The goretex liner type boots just don't cut it in the environment that I hunt. I need a boot that can be used for standing in water all day without leaking. So far these have worked great.

I got this boot as a gift and it was surprisingly better then the Muck boot that I had. I have a small animal farm in NY and I use this boots to work on the farm. It rains a lot in NY so my grounds are really muddy most of the time and these boots do a good job of keeping my feet warm and dry. The Muck boot was easier to get on and off but the Rutmaster fit like a glove and was more comfortable.
