This is neither positive nor negative, but the boot looks a lot more like other Danner boots than the pictures suggest. The angle of the picture and the stitching make the toe look less bulky than other Danner boots, but as soon as I opened the box, I knew it wasn't for me. The toe has the chunky Danner hiker look to it, and the leather is duller than it seems in the pictures here.
If you like the Danner look, but want something a little less like their hiking boots, you'll probably like this.
